Casting Down Our Triggers
Episode #801
4/10/2022

With Martha Kilpatrick and hosted by John Enslow
With special guest: Joan Wentzel, Ladonna Spears, Gene Spears

This is a continuation of a series of podcasts started in Episode #797
We curse ourselves and then comes the entrance, we open the door to the devil to take that ground and use it against you unendingly.

John:
I think that’s why we are all being triggered. I think, literally, it’s God’s invitation to saying, “Hey, come on, let’s get out of the trigger and let My life come out.” We’re all in varying degrees of triggers and we’re all sitting here saying “I’m in this situation and I don’t know how to get out of it.” God’s like saying, “I’m the one that’s out of it!”

Martha:
He said, “I will perform.”

Joan:
The obstacle is the way.

John:
The obstacle is the way. That’s right.

Martha:
He said, “I will perform what I’m asking of you.” He’s to write the books. So, He’s been slow. That’s my bad word of cursing Him. No, He’s right on target but He’s got so much work to do to get me to let go and be dumb and weak and unable. I’m totally unable. I’m declaring it.

John:
But it doesn’t matter. It’s inconsequential.

Ladonna:
It’s good if you are unable.

Martha:
Then He can come.

Ladonna:
You can be the empty vessel filled.

John:
There you go and that’s what you’re writing.

Martha:
That’s what I’m writing. And what is poured out is the Holy Spirit into us. If we have an empty room, the Holy Spirit can come and fill it.

John:
We are literally living out your book. We’ve got a bunch of stone pots here. Let’s let Him fill us up with the water and change it to wine. I’m ready.

Martha:
All it takes is swallowing the Word and believing it and then you are wine and you are feeding the world at the wedding at Cana.

John:
His life, His blessing, His presence.

Martha:
Presence. His being.

John:
His being, infused that water with Himself.

Martha:
I had experiences with the Lord and I covet giving experiences to y’all, opening a door, something so you can experience Him.

John:
This is it.

Martha:
This is it. It’s not healing it’s Him.

John:
That’s right! That’s the whole point. I don’t believe it’s a healing ministry. I believe it’s Him and healing will come naturally out of Him.

LaDonna:
Healing, deliverance from demons, preaching the gospel….

John:
…everything that He does.

Martha:
I’m going to this place for my little medical and all kinds of thing are happening. Rita said, “I look around sometimes with all this going on and I see this church.” He is building a church in this clinic and He is bringing His presence into this clinic. Who would think that you would get Jesus there? He’s in the church building didn’t you know.

John:
Where two or more are gathered there He is in the midst. That’s right. If you want to do that, if you want to stand up and throw it down; thrown down our contempt, our self-bitterness, our self-hatred, our roles, our effort.

Martha:
Name it.

John:
Effort, anxiety, self-hatred…

Martha:
I give my self-hatred to the Lord.

John:
Self-bitterness!

Martha:
Self-bitterness. I am forgiven and I am loved and I have a destiny and I have a glory and I my Beloved.

John:
Your self-contempt for weakness and vulnerability. Your role.

Martha:
My role, my labels.

John:
Your labels.

Martha:
I want to be an empty vessel for it to be all Jesus!

John:
That’s right.

Martha:
Ok, I’m done.

Conversation in background (Your dad’s opinion….anyone’s opinions)

John:
That’s opinions.

Martha:
Oh, that is opinion.

John:
Anyone’s opinion. It’s doesn’t matter. Martha, if you say, “Ok, they did have opinions about me. I took them and I ran with them. It’s my fault. If it’s your fault, then you can get rid of it. So, done.

Ok, I throw down my role, my anxiety over fixing, even my power to fix, my condemning for not performing, my shame for not making it work, my depression and despair. I have despair and depression because I can’t do it. It’s anxious, it’s torment. And I throw it all down because I want to be empty so that I can see His Life coming through. I want Him to pour through all of us.

Martha:
We are one. We are one body of Christ.

John:
Six empty pots right here.

Martha:
I cast down every adultish thing in my life. I am to be a child.

John:
Should, should, should.

Joan:
Oughts and shoulds.

John:
Oughts and shoulds.

Martha:
Oughts and shoulds.

John:
Remember that message? Oh my gosh, it’s an amazing message. Oughts and Shoulds. We need to put that one in a booklet. It’s beautiful. I’m ready for it! Let’s do it. Let’s get that one!

Gene:
I want to throw down my reason for self-hatred: not being able to hold up, do my end of the deal. In my mind that’s the worst. I want to see what other people see. We feed off each other. I see this beautiful (LaDonna), God-filled, spiritual partner who is stuck with me from can to can’t; just amazed every day. And she sees that in me but we can’t see it in each other. It’s kind of sad.

John:
That’s why y’all are tied together so that y’all can see it together.

Gene:
I thank God for her almost daily. It should be daily.

Martha:
I go back to the beginning with this discussion that it has become a demonic stronghold. We curse ourselves and then comes the entrance, we open the door to the devil to take that ground and use it against you unendingly. We are going to consider asking the Lord what to do about the demonic. We’ve been given the authority when Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead and came back alive.

John:
Once you throw down all the stuff and throw it in the grave then the demonic doesn’t have anything to hold on to anymore. We don’t have to.

Martha:
The enemy has been defeated. That’s what I’ve got to write about. There is no power that he has over us except what we give Him.

John:
That’s right!

Martha:
And we give him plenty of power and self-hatred is one of the ways he gets us to hate ourselves.

John:
Believing in against what God wants us to believe and then we give him a wide open door.

Martha:
I’ve been rehearsing this because I’m writing about it that you have to view life by what is true and what is a lie. We have to come to be able to discern the lie because the lie is going to bombard us especially if we have a weak area of the lack of being filled with the love of God.

This is so much bigger than we even get because we’ve getting rid of everything that rejects Christ, everything that keep Him away, everything that is unbelief, and lack of forgiveness; all of that is what the enemy wants to get in us on that ground. We’ve renounced that so the proclamation is “I am loved. He died for me.” There is no barrier between you and Jesus except what we build ourselves. We have torn down the very things that we believe in that are lies. It’s all a lie.

He has a glorious ending for us in this nation, believe it or not, and in this life and whatever is coming. We are going to be His. One of the things I wanted to share with you.

Once again, I’m here to present to you that your Savior will be with you. I opened to this this morning; Even when I’m old and gray-haired, O God, forsake me not, but keep me alive until I have declared fully Your mighty strength to this generation and You might and power to all that come. I am here to tell the story. Psalm 71:18. That’s the purpose.
