A Church with One Mind in the Spirit
Episode #641
3-17-2019
With Martha Kilpatrick and hosted by John Enslow
Special Guest: Jennifer Wentzel
This is the continuation of a series of podcasts started in Episode #637.
There is unity only in the Holy Spirit and only with the mind of Jesus Christ. But what an amazing adventure to be one just as Jesus and the Father are one!
Martha:
When we did this Message of the Month, Jennifer was there and I asked her to read this. This is a long portion, but I think it’s wonderful.
Jennifer:
This is Ephesians 4:1-16 in the Passion.
“As a prisoner of the Lord, I plead with you to walk holy, in a way that is suitable to your high rank, given to you in your divine calling. With tender humility and quiet patience, always demonstrate gentleness and generous love toward one another, especially toward those who may try your patience. Be faithful to guard the sweet harmony of the Holy Spirit among you in the bonds of peace, being one body and one spirit, as you were all called into the same glorious hope of divine destiny.
For the Lord God is one, and so are we, for we share in one faith, one baptism, and one Father. And He is the perfect Father who leads us all, works through us all, and lives in us all!And he has generously given each one of us supernatural grace, according to the size of the gift of Christ. This is why he says:
“He ascends into the heavenly heights taking his many captured ones with him, and gifts were given to men.”
He “ascended” means that he returned to heaven, after he had first descended from the heights of heaven, even descending as far as the lowest parts of the earth. The same one who descended is also the one who ascended above the heights of heaven, in order to begin the restoration and fulfillment of all things.
And he has appointed some with grace to be apostles, and some with grace to be prophets, and some with grace to be evangelists, and some with grace to be pastors, and some with grace to be teachers. And their calling is to nurture and prepare all the holy believers to do their own works of ministry, and as they do this they will enlarge and build up the body of Christ. These grace ministries will function until we all attain oneness in the faith, until we all experience the fullness of what it means to know the Son of God, and finally we become one perfect man with the full dimensions of spiritual maturity and fully developed in the abundance of Christ.
And then our immaturity will end! And we will not be easily shaken by trouble, nor led astray by novel teachings or by the false doctrines of deceivers who teach clever lies. But instead we will remain strong and always sincere in our love as we express the truth. All our direction and ministries will flow from Christ and lead us deeper into him, the anointed Head of his body, the church.
For his “body” has been formed in his image and is closely joined together and constantly connected as one. And every member has been given divine gifts to contribute to the growth of all; and as these gifts operate effectively throughout the whole body, we are built up and made perfect in love.”
Martha:
See I don’t have a number 10 card, and I think the verse you just read will be our number 10 card.
Jenifer:
You mean that, the giant passage I just read?
Martha:
No, on the back side. We’ll just have one.
Jenifer:
Oh, verse 16!
Martha:
So we’ll get together and come up with that card and report on that later. That was… That whole reading to me was about the Church. And… But I didn’t, I didn’t do a card for that. But, that… Again we end up with that we are one. We are to be one. We are one. We’re made one in Him. We are, we are one with each other and one with Him. So thank you.
So I’m going to love to hear from our precious friends from all of this! And, thank you all.
Jennifer:
I’m really excited that The End Time Hope was February’s message. That it’s so close to the beginning of this year, you know? That it is in the beginning of this year. It kind of gives purpose to the year, I feel like for me. Not just the direction for my life but to take it in smaller bites for this year. I can take that in, you know? That’s… I can, I can go that far anyway. I don’t know if I have any place beyond this year, you know, since we have no guarantee of tomorrow. But, that, that’s hope for me. And I don’t know if you remember this, but after you gave that message and we talked a little like we always do, you said that you would, you would be willing to give me a great gift of a scripture card – because your scripture cards are jewels. And you gave me this one and I think it’s appropriate and so I wanna, I wanna read it for this end because I’m sure I’m not the only one who might be in danger of being overwhelmed and waiting for the Spirit to come in and settle them down and— Which is kind of what you helped me do with this verse. You gave me Ezekiel 36:25-27 AMP
“Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you, and I will remove the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.”
And it’s just a scripture of all that’s He’s going to do to make everything that He wants possible. And it’s just a nice reminder, you know, as we keep saying, it’s not on us but the work to believe is God promised this, therefore, it is so. And that’s what I stand on.
Martha:
So I have card number 11? Don’t you think it should be the very last one?
Jennifer:
I kinda do!
Martha:
Or is there a last one?
Jennifer:
We’ll call this a gold, a platinum package for, (laughing) for all who are out there.
Martha:
Ok! And it may go on and on. Who knows? This may start a movement (laughs)!
Jennifer:
Ten years from now when we’re on card 514, we’ll look back on these early days…
Martha:
(Laughing) And wish it were still simple.
Jennifer:
…smile…
Martha:
What children we were!
Jennifer:
Like a mosaic of cards on the wall!
(Laughing)
Martha:
Thank You, Lord, for this time and this word and for all of us who are here and all of you who are listening. Thank You, Lord, for our friends. In Jesus name and to His glory, Amen!
