An END to the Stronghold of Anxiety
Episode #825
9/25/2022

With Martha Kilpatrick and hosted by John Enslow

This is a continuation of a series of podcasts started in Episode #821
Overcoming Anxiety shows the picture and it’s frightening and it’s evil and it’s dark.

Martha:
Truly it is a booklet to own and give.

John:
I would love to have people even share it as a present for people; give it to people that are in anxiety. I pray that it’s going to be received very well. I waited for this cover and that was the hold up; really, the cover. And then I finished the painting. I painted this beautiful, horrible nightmare. I really love the picture because it speaks so highly of what it is.

Martha:
That one painting which I would be scared of, it’s so piercing, but it does show you the picture, a visible of anxiety and it’s frightening and it’s evil and it’s dark.

John:
It’s a perfect picture. When I made the complication of the image and when I started to paint it, I said, “This is going to work! This is really going to work.”

Martha:
It does, John. It invites you in to say…

John:
“Let me get out of that!”

Martha:
…” I can help.”

John:
Look at that face. I love it.

Martha:
Scared to death and fretting. This is going to be a fun ride. That’s what I was trying to get the word for. This is a fun ride. Let’s do it together. Let’s be accountable to one another. Let’s start a series where we help each other and pray for each other to get this solved. I think as a church it’s much more powerful than individuals scratching at the window.

John:
Exactly.

Martha:
It’s going to be fun because it’s victory. We have been given the victory as a gift that we don’t have to build or earn or get or find or make. We just sit back and receive what Jesus has done on the cross forever giving us freedom and purity. He is the ultimate solution to anxiety. He will give you the peace. The other night I was trying to sleep and I said, “Lord, just give me one word.” He said, “Peace. Peace is next to you on this bed. You are surrounded by the presence of peace in Jesus.” I was shocked that He talked to me like that; so clearly answering what I ask Him. “Give me just one word.” “Peace.” Is that not medicine, holiness, love, and celebration right there? I am on fire and you are, too! You wrote it on fire, didn’t you?

John:
I did. I love this booklet.

Martha:
We celebrate. And we celebrate that the Lord provided everything for it to be published and to be given. I am so excited about it. I believe excitement is the opposite of anxiety.

John:
You have a joy filled excitement where anxiety is deadly excitement. It’s fretting.

Martha:
Yes and I praise God for giving us this gift through John. We want to be a messenger. I am so aware now the last days that we have to be thinking in terms of eternity because we are setting ourselves up for eternity and anxiety will kill all the potential that God has given us. It is the subtle diabolical enemy of power in this day and age. It’s bringing the lies that there is trouble. No! Jesus took all trouble. There’s sin and anxiety and all that Jesus paid for that and wiped it out of every Believer who is willing to admit and to submit to Jesus’ remedy which is His SELF; His own life power entering us and living in us. I didn’t mean to get on the stage and keep going.

John:
It’s beautiful and I appreciate it. This is a celebration and this is a joy and I’m looking forward to everybody getting this and just enjoying themselves with it because it is the recovery of joy and life by killing this inner thief.

Martha:
The end of your book is this scripture:

Psalm 46:10 TPT
Surrender your anxiety. Be silent and stop your striving and you will see that I am God!

That’s the issue right there. There is no other. Who is God? Satan and darkness and trouble and my failures? No!

I am God above all the nations, and I will be exalted throughout the whole earth.

Lord Jesus, let us participate in this exalting You across the whole earth. Isn’t that amazing that we would have that power just simply by getting rid of worry. It seems so noble. I worry so I can help the world. No!

John:
You just rob yourself of life and joy with that.

Martha:
We look forward to the whole thing being known by the Body of Christ. Thank you, John, for the work and the sacrifice of your life to actually expose your failures so we can identify with the reality that you discovered of Christ’s power. It’s so exciting.

John:
It’s His story and it’s His to use and utilize as He will. I’m grateful for the whole thing.

Martha
Tell us how to get it.

John:
Go to Living Christian Books. It’s available there. You can buy the booklet there or if you prefer Kindle, it is available on Amazon Kindle. I had a lot of people tell me they prefer to be able to hold and touch the book rather than Kindle but it is available on Kindle if you like.

Martha:
And you can have both.

John:
And you can do both, absolutely!

Martha:
I can’t be silent.

John:
It’s wonderful. I am really pleased. Thank ya’ll for listening and I hope you go get your copy and if you have already gotten your copy, you are on your copy, I hope you will get some more copies to share with your friends and family and those you witness in your life who have anxiety as a stronghold. It’s very evident, it’s really evident when you look at people and you can see it on them.

I am looking for His life to come forth and crush this evil force that is annihilating so many currently.

Martha:
No telling what is behind the evil of this anxiety. It’s definitely darkness. But Jesus has solved every, everything about it. You could take the back of this book and get it there. The book itself is a complete study on this.

It says, “Anxiety touches most every person in their deepest being. It is a great equalizer and seems to be one of our most common problems.” The rest of it is worth reading.

John:
Thank ya’ll very much. I appreciate ya’ll listening. Look forward to talking to you soon.

  1. Pauline says:

Considering 1 Peter 5:7 – “. . . casting all your anxiety on Him . . . ” At the heart of it all, it appears that anxiety is rooted in trying to care, by myself, for that which only God can do. And the key to “casting,” I note in verse 6, is humility – “humble yourself . . . casting.”
“For He cares for you.” Phillips translation says “for you are His personal concern.” And this is spoken to us by Jesus in Matt. 6: 25-32.
    A little poem I remember:

Said the robin to the sparrow
I should really like to know
    Why these anxious human beings
    Rush about and worry so
Said the sparrow to the robin
Friend, I think that it must be
That they have no Heavenly Father
Such as cares for you and me.

  2. Helen Whaley says:

“Let me get out of that!” “Let’s do it together. Let’s be accountable to one another” Yes! Light! expels & defeats the Lie. “Victory as a gift…” Anxiety is accusation…light came…to expose hidden accusation in entanglement instead of surrendered reliance on my Father. Piercing arrow: “It seems so noble”!!! “so I can help the world. No!” That comes in so many ways, ‘I’ve got a handle on this’, trying to have the answer…that’s rooted in anxiety. Anxiety will enforce the stronghold…it expects what the enemy says to expect. FAITH expects & relies on our Father. We’re in the Kingdom IN Christ, not the crisis. HE IS our seeing, hearing, thought, purpose, movement, stillness, speaking, loving, Life! The SOLUTION never changes, HE, in me, His child, knowing Him NOW “…and you will see that I AM GOD!” Here is all the wonder we could ever bear. Here is unbounded Glory! (Eph.4:6 TPT) “And He is the perfect Father who leads us all, works through us all and lives in us all”
