Endurance and the End Times
Episode #737
1/17/2021

With Martha Kilpatrick and hosted by John Enslow

This is a continuation of a series of podcasts started in Episode #736
Let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us. Two things that encumber us from endurance, taking on burdens and sin.

Martha:
We are rewarded for everything that we do in obedience to God. And that’s incredible. Don’t throw away your confidence which has a great reward. Our faith during this time, our work to have faith has a great and glorious, says the Amplified, reward.

For you need endurance, here’s, there’s my word, my word for the hour is endurance… So that after you’ve done God’s will you may receive what is promised. And then, for yet a very little while the Coming One will come and not delay, but my righteous one will live by faith.

And of course, everybody, including the New Testament believers, has to, we have to live our life as though He is coming at any time. You mentioned His coming in last month’s message.

John:
In the last podcast, you mean?

Martha:
mm hmm

John:
Yeah, I mentioned we’re all in our own personal, regardless of how old we are or who we are, we are all literally living in our …

Martha:
in our last end times … yes.

John:
… end times. It doesn’t matter if it’s end times for the entire of humanity, I’m in my end times, and you’re in your end times.

Martha:
(laughing) I’m in really end times …

And then the scripture that I’m on beyond, let’s see I’ve read to you from Hebrews 10, now in Hebrews 12: Since we have a great cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us. The two things: taking on burdens,

John:
Mm hmm

Martha:
and sin. And I think it would be great, and I’m doing it .. to take those two issues and take them to the Lord every morning and show me where I’m carrying what is not mine,

John:
Oh, that’s awesome.

Martha:
And give me the sin – oh it works – tell me what sin. Then I’m clean and clear to say let us run with endurance the race that lies before us.

John:
Because you’re unencumbered …

Martha:
I’m unencumbered ! Yeah !

John:
Yes!

Martha:
Oh, it’s fabulous!

John:
Ooh, I need to do that …!

Martha:
Let us run with endurance, the race that lies before us … and and it’s hard to consider that it is a race. That requires some thinking and praying that I want to do. Keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the Source and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured the cross. He endured for us. And we have to endure with His endurance as well.

John:
Mm hmm, mm hmm

Martha:
and despised the shame and sat down at the right hand of God’s throne. For consider Him who endured with such hostility from sinners against Himself so that you don’t weary, be weary and lose heart.

Endurance says so many things. If you endure with Me you will reign with Me.
And what I’m learning about endurance, and endurance that I’ve already been through for years…

John:
Mm hmmm

Martha:
…in certain areas, and you too.

John:
Mm hmm,

Martha:
It’s the courage to stay with a difficult time and it changes you. It, the scripture says you will find your soul if you endure. And I believe that is the New Creation, and who you really are. Endurance is the test that finds you out.

John:
I love your connection with, with being unencumbered, the endurance, because you would think that you were enduring your encumbrances. And you’re not saying that at all. And it’s really easy to get encumbered right now.

Martha:
Mm hmm

John:
Right now I can turn on the news and I can be encumbered in five seconds.

Martha:
(laughing) And helpless …

John:
And exactly. And so I love that you’re coming to Him in the morning and saying:
“What is my encumbrance and what is my sin?”
And then you have the endurance.

Martha:
Yes, that’s the fruit of doing that work of …

John:
Wow…!

Martha:
…of hearing

John:
That’s awesome!

Martha:
And it’s amazing what I find. I’m prone to take on things.

John:
Yeah, you and me both.

Martha:
And then …

John:
We both like pack llamas …

Martha:
laughing

John:
… carrying crap around (laughing)

Martha:
… that isn’t ours…

John:
Right, exactly, hmmm

Martha:
So it is being free. And that small work of prayer is so fruitful.

John:
phewwwww

Martha:
You had so much to share last month in the podcast of help. I think what we are doing is feeding the sheep …

John:
Right, right …

Martha:
…I hope and pray we are feeding the sheep.

John:
I hope that is exactly what is happening

Martha:
Because we have to take the crisis back to the practical level before the Lord.

John:
Mm hmmm
Well and if you’re looking at the crisis and you’re not seeing, you know, the steps and the practicality, you’re overwhelmed. It’s too much. It’s too much.

Martha:
Yes, it is too much. And I mentioned the book by Dr. Price about faith and this very scripture is what he sends you to … He says: “Fixing our eyes on Jesus who is the Source and Perfecter of our faith.” And he teaches faith, not as mental assent, but that faith is what you gain from Jesus.

John:
Mmmmm

Martha:
And so the wonderful thing is, when you lay down the encumbrance of trying to help God, (laughing) and help what you’re not supposed to help … you lay that down and you confess your sin then you’re ready for the faith that flows down…

John:
Wow

Martha:
…from gazing at Jesus. And I’ve experienced it. I saw, as an answer to that prayer, I had a glimpse of God’s Absolute Authority. Your book, I believe is of the Hour, the book of the hour … Sovereign Touch.

John:
Wow

Martha:
The picture of Sovereignty. That’s what we need to know and believe in.
Because He’s going to win …

John:
Right

Martha:
He’s going to rise one way or the other. It doesn’t matter.

John:
Right

Martha:
He is God. And I got such a gift of faith that He is over this in Absolute, and I said, Dominion.

John:
Mmm hmmm

Martha:
And I said, HE’S got the Dominion.

John:
He IS the Dominion. HE’S got the Domain. The domain of darkness is being defeated by the Dominion of the Kingdom.

Martha:
(laughing) Yes, yes.

John:
Yeah

Martha:
And it’s going to be. He is Going To Win.

John:
Exactly.

Martha:
Because He is God.

John:
Right.

Martha:
And so It gave me such confidence, and strength came from that gift of faith. And faith is a gift. And we have to go to Him as for a gift. It’s not a, a, even that verse that says Faith comes by hearing, still, it’s by hearing Him.

John:
Right

Martha:
It’s when the scripture lights up and He gives you a promise that you know He has spoken to you, that’s still …

John:
You’re still entering union, you’re still going into relationship

Martha:
… from Jesus. Yeah.

So this practical, simple thing in Hebrews 12. And it’s a time for discipline. It’s really a time for discipline. God is testing our hearts right now.

John:
We are all being tested, aren’t we?

Martha:
We are all being tested. Our hearts are being exposed and that’s a good thing.

John:
It is.

Martha:
Because you can get right with God in ways that you didn’t know you were off the mark. So, I’m just going to read this prayer. I could sit and read scripture on this all day and be perfectly content. Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the Great Shepherd of the Sheep, with the Blood of the everlasting covenant, equip you – listening – us – Shulamite – every one who can hear this, equip you with all that is good to do His will, working in us what is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, glory belongs to Him forever and ever.

See we don’t understand that when we ask the Lord, when we pray, we don’t always feel that it’s been answered.

John:
Right

Martha:
But I’m finding that God moves in an underground manner. What is pleasing in His sight, He will affect and bring forth in us, beyond what we are capable of doing. It’s really all available. HE is available to everything.

John:
Mmm mmm

Endurance and the End Times – Episode #737 – Shulamite Podcast

Endurance says so many things. God says, “If you endure with Me, you will reign with Me.” Talk about an end times attribute.

  1. Helen says:

This is a sheep feast indeed! ‘You are what you eat’…to run a race makes this so evident. Our Shepherd leads us to green pastures, & these messages have said with joy, ‘here it is!’ (Spurgeon) “He…commits no errors in measuring out the ingredients which compose the medicine of souls.” You’ve given the way, so practical, to have our hearts exposed, in testing & running—lay aside the taking on of burdens, & sin—ASK—so we are on the mark. “By your steadfastness & patient endurance you shall win the true life of your souls”…the longed for, given, New Creation! The 2nd. Adam lived unencumbered. What a time this is for the Truth of this to fill out hearts. There’s nothing isolated about this Holy Spirit work…it’s searching, cleansing, clearing. We win the true life of our souls in His Win! All, is part of, All, IN CHRIST! Source & Perfecter! Jesus, the only One i can safely gaze at, hear, trust & obey. “God moves in an underground manner. What’s pleasing in His sight, He will affect & bring forth in us, beyond what we are capable of doing.” Thank you for this amazing insight for His sheep!
