His Will Orchestrates Everything
Episode #710
07/12/2020
With Martha Kilpatrick and hosted by John Enslow
Special Guest: Joan Wentzel
This the continuation of a series of podcasts started in Episode #706
From the very beginning the Will of God has orchestrated everything to be about this issue of ruling and reigning with Him, it is His Will for us.
Martha:
So in…The wonderful things I’m sitting here with two people I love most of way up top of all the people in the world and we are all in this together. We all have the common goal. We all have the same destination and we’re going…And I look at both of you every now and then and say, “I’m going to be with you forever; ever and ever and ever. I’ll never be separated from you.” And that’s, that…We have a whole history among us. And that’s an adventure, too, because it’s part of, we are part of a, a cooperate church. We’re part of a family of God and we are being formed to be like Him and we can help each other do that. So it’s perfect. It’s all perfect. I just don’t know it in advance.
John:
You have to be willing to relegate yourself to His Will and not limit where you will allow that will to, to function and be because if you have any, any stops or limitations of what you will allow the will of God to be, you, you will miss it.
Martha:
If you think you know better…
John:
Yeah, you, you…
Martha:
You’re, you’re in for it.
John:
Well, He’ll test you on it. He’ll put you right in the middle of that.
Martha:
Well, He did Esther. And then made her memorable to all Jewish people for …
John:
They celebrate her.
Martha:
They celebrate her. Yes.
John:
Purim, right?
Martha:
Yes. Saved their lives.
John:
So, so you’re not allowed to, to, to put limits and walls around what you will allow the will of God to be.
Martha:
You know John thinking that it’s madness to try to orchestrate your life around what you want because we have no clue what God has in store for us. I can tell you I had no idea what He would do with my life.
John:
Right.
Martha:
I didn’t have a clue and I didn’t particularly care. Didn’t occur to me that there was a life that would affect the world, perhaps. So it’s, it’s being willing to be utterly dependent. It’s being willing to know nothing.
John:
There you go right there. That’s where you, you lay down all…that’s where you lay down all your limits.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
You say, “I know nothing.”
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
“Whatever You say.”
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
And then He takes you.
Martha:
Um hmm.
And He has plans too wonderful that for you to even know about. It’s like a little tiny child being told they’re going to…
John:
Disney World.
Martha:
…a ride? to Disney World. That’s a poor illustration.
John:
Yeah. Like a little kid. Like, yeah whatever. Disney! Ahh! ?
Martha:
Yeah.
Martha:
I was just telling Joan we don’t know it but we’re prepared from the moment we’re born and before, really. So much that happens in our lives from the very beginning God has orchestrated to be about this issue of ruling and reigning with Him and with the Son of God and with each other. It’s too wonderful.
John:
I’ve, I can look at my, my life and my past and my childhood and everything and I see things that were established then of being utilized now and, and I see the purpose of, of things that you wouldn’t have even thought would be Kingdom…
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
…that here they are. And, and it’s amazing. There’s so many things that I look and I’m like, “Oh, golly, You would like totally set this up.
Martha:
And He lets us have enough, a lot of deficits. (John laughs) He, He…Did I use the wrong word?
John:
No, you used the absolute, perfect word.
Martha:
That’s the problem. He does. He gives you places of need to provoke you to get in step with Him. He gave me a situation in, in my childhood when my mother passed away and, and then I got married and had children and, of course, I didn’t have a mother to mother me through those years so I, I had, I was a really hungry for information and I went to the library. I thought that was what you did. And I didn’t have a mentor. So I became kind of a researcher back then.
John:
A student.
Martha:
A student. A… Passionate to learn devouring it all that wonderful information. I learned things about children that I can remember to this minute about the, their growth of their brain and what you feed them and so it was intricate and I didn’t dream parenthood was that intricate. And…But those, those empty places are for Him to use to fill with how He wants to form you and He…Form your character and your loves and your, your hates and it’s just a, it’s wonderful. I, I just look forward to being in heaven so that we can see everybody’s film of their life and, and, and know them better. Know…Everybody will know everybody and it will…And then we’ll see what the angels did that we didn’t know.
John:
Well, even your deficit is a test of, of your willingness to be in the will of God because if He’s says this is, this is my Will and it’s a complete deficit of yours it’s not a place of comfort and a place of ease. You have to trust Him in it. But you have to go in there based on His will.
Martha:
And I’ve seen you do that about five hundred times.
John:
Yeah, right.
Martha:
Yeah, you, you take on the task.
John:
You, you just…
Martha:
You do it.
John:
…say, “Ok, well, let’s go.”
Martha:
Yeah, you do.
John:
Here we go!
Martha:
You don’t give yourself any excuses and, and He has bestowed on you a great many skills that you developed in obedience.
John:
Out of complete deficit.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
But I knew that it was His Will and so I followed Him in, into it and then He revealed Himself through it. But it was His Will. It was submission to His Will. Then again, you know, it, you don’t get to decide what the Will of God is because you’re comfortable with it.
Martha:
You know, John, I’m going to recommend…Let me go back to my little decision with the Lord. I, I commit to do whatever You tell me to do. So many people really have not made that absolute, unequivocal decision. It…For me it was a commitment. It wasn’t “On Friday I’ll do that.” And so if you haven’t made a commitment to His Will, you won’t make it because you will be enticed by what is not His Will and, and you won’t be committed.
But the commitment is crucial; to be absolutely committed to His Will and that’s why I love Psalm 119 because it’s people who are…The writer is in love with the Will of God and wants it and longs for it and prays for it. And that, that’s our precedent in the scripture, that’s one of them; in absolute commitment and passion. That’s having learned.
You don’t want to miss His Will. Once you get in it you think, “Oh, I, I don’t want to miss anything He wants.” It’s just… It…The benefits are enormous to creep back to you. It’s not a barren walk where you don’t get what you want. It’s where He gives you what delights you in your heart. He gives you the delight of your heart. He promises if you’ll do these and this and this that He’ll give you the, give you what you want. And if you’ve left children and farms and so forth, He’ll give you twice as much in this life and persecutions. But He does. He did, He has in my literal life.
So I just urge everybody to be committed to His will, to give your life to His will.
Joan:
And the choosing is one step but the committing is the follow-up step to choice because the committing gives the clarity. A lot of people say, “Well, I’ve chosen God’s Will but I don’t know. It’s not clear.” But I think without commitment there can be no clarity.
Martha:
Exactly, Joan. And so specific, “Go to this restaurant for your lunch.” And and when you are committed, He has to be committed to you to reveal His Will.
Joan:
Yes. And He asked for commitment and He asked for willingness.
Martha:
Um hmm.
Joan:
And when He brings it, are you willing?
Martha:
Um hmm.
Joan:
But the…To me what I’ve learned is being committed brings the clarity.
Martha:
That’s great.
Joan:
It’s not foggy. But because, well?…I know lots of time, “Well, I chose” but, no, not without commitment to the choice there is no clarity.
Martha:
Um hmm.
And I’ve had so many people say, “I want to do His Will” and I will say, “You’ll never make it. You’ll never make it.” Want is too weak. Will is the word. I will. Everybody wants…the best. But there is, there is a price to pay and it is to lose your life. But it’s all possible and it’s all upheld and sustained and God is the energy of it all.
Joan:
And it’s joy.
His Will Orchestrates Everything – Episode #710 – Shulamite Podcast
God is so sovereign that He orchestrates even our deficits by His Will. From the very beginning the Will of God has been about this issue of ruling and reigning with Him.
And way over here from time to time I’ll be like, “Ooooooh! Some day I’ll actually be with the Shulamites! And I’m going to be able to look into their eyes! Hug them! And run barefooted across the fields with them! And laugh…❤?❤
“willing to trust Him with everything? Lord give us strength, courage, wisdom & love of You & Your Will above ALL else.” Thank you Celia!
Commitment without walls…wherever His Will leads He is our expectation. To watch for Him, know Him there…that’s the adventure. To look at the scene won’t tell me the story. He increments us into it as we yes our way along. Our absolute commitment? Isn’t it heart response to having experienced HIS loving commitment? He is absolutely intent on His Will. Haven’t we seen that, & been stunned by it & the Love behind it…looked in wonder & thanksgiving that He was intent & is passionate for His Will? ONE WILL in the universe is SURE & ULTIMATE. His Will is the only place of security, peace, satisfaction & wonder that is worship. A Bride, with less than absolute commitment toward Him, with Him? To Whom do I belong? ‘His’…every place, every moment. Our deepest place of commitment. The graced path, for heaven’s heart in earth’s feet. Thank you for opening our hearts to His call in this, with clarity!
Thank you for this message. I feel we are under a GREAT and painful sifting in our country, in our churches, in our lives. Will we choose Jesus? Will we choose His will? Will we give up family, church family, children, lands for His sake? Are we willing to lose all or almost all, the most precious of our relationships and/or every bit of our worldly wealth, our good name, our perceived security and safety? Are we even willing to suffer loneliness, let alone, persecution? Are we willing to trust Him with everything? Lord give us strength, courage, wisdom and love of You and Your Will, above ALL else. The rubber is meeting the road.
