The Need is to Believe
Episode #701
05/10/2020
With Martha Kilpatrick and hosted by John Enslow
Special Guest: Joan Wentzel
This the continuation of a series of podcasts started in Episode #697
In crisis we live by leaning, needing and relying in and trusting and working to believe. The work is to believe, not to do. The work is to believe.
Martha:
I could go through this Holman Bible and just keep reading the names of Jesus; just so, so anointed to read just His name.
So if I’m not involved and Christ’s life in me is to live my life for me, how do you do that? And I can tell you that I struggled for years to believe that and I’m still asking to see and understand the fact that He, He is the me instead of me and we are one at the same time.
So how do you come to believe and function as reality? And I’m going to say my newest phrase for the answer to everything is, “Say it, pray it!” You have to speak it so you hear it. The hearing is…Faith comes by the hearing of the word but I didn’t realize it was me that I need to be hearing say it. And when I say it…We have, we mentioned this before in podcast that the Bible is so clear to proclaim it. So say it. “I am indwelt by the Son of God. Jesus Christ lives in me and I am crucified. Lord Jesus make that real in my life.” Say it, pray it.
I think it was a couple months ago the Lord spoke something to me when I was praying, very loud and very clear. I was praying for protection. I was, I felt like I was under assault. And the Lord said, “You do not need protection. You need faith that you possess protection as a FACT not a goal.” Now if you can take that in, that’s an incredible statement. It means that I have within Christ in me I have everything. He’s already given it, He’s already provided it. Whatever I need and beyond He’s, He has already earned, paid for, and given freely, unequivocally. So we do not need these different things. We need faith in His provision.
Then the other one is the word ‘let’. Let God. Let the word be rooted in you. Let the love of God take you over. It’s getting out of His way. Let is getting out of His way. Whatever you need you already have.
I, I learned years ago and I’ve had to learn it over and over and over again faith is past tense. If it is not past tense, it’s not faith. If you’re saying, “God give me, give me peace,” I sorry, He already has. Believe it that you have received.
“My peace I give to you. Not as world gives it unto you but the peace of God Himself I give to you.”
So I have the peace. I have to believe the peace not ask for the peace. It’s not…I’m not being legal about it at all. But I’m just saying whatever you need you already have. God waits for you to see your need and claim the provision.
“You have not because you ask not.”
God wants us to come to Him as Father. Father loves to give. Father loves to talk to His children. Father loves to hear their little gibbly-gabble like I give Him a lot of time. But He, He wants to hear that. So let God be all He is by just don’t oppose Him, don’t resist Him, and don’t un-believe Him.
I’m still working on a Tape of the Month called The Evil Heart of Unbelief and it’s so, oh, it’s so terrible. I got to get through repenting then I can write it. I’m being funny.
The wonderful thing about Joan is she uses a lot of translations but Joan is really a child. She, she’s a prophetic child and she lives in all the scriptures but she loves the Living Bible. I think that’s so wonderful because it’s the child’s Bible. Do you have anything from the Living with you?
Joan:
Well, when Martha’s talking about how we get the, the word in us and how we believe and I love the Living Bible because this is how they start in Deuteronomy 6.
“O Israel, listen: Jehovah is our God, Jehovah alone. You must love him with all your heart, soul, and might. And you must think constantly about these commandments I am giving you today. You must teach them to your children and talk about them…
And this is what I feel like how to get them in us:
…talk about them when you are at home or out for a walk;
…at bedtime and the first thing in the morning. Tie them on your finger, wear them on your forehead, and write them on the doorposts of your house!”
Now I feel like that’s our proclamation parts, our affirmation so we keep them, try and keep them close and, and then we talk to each other about things and if you have, if you’re a body I encourage you to talk to one another about the affirmations and encourage one another because this is how Israel learned, this is how we learn. And it’s in everyday life in the everyday things. If something’s going on with somebody, well, encourage them with a card. Oh, a word you have from your card. That’s what Martha’s training us in cards.
Martha:
Well, I happen to have some cards with me. Martha has a hard time keeping up with the volume of cards I have. But I brought…The Lord took me to these two and so I’m proclaiming them from, from us to you and ask you to join.
“Most blessed…
This is Jeremiah 17:7-8 Amplified
[Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding fruit.
But how do you get there? By leaning and needing and, and relying in and trusting and working to believe. The work is to believe. The work is not to do. The work is to believe.
“Blessed is the man who believes in, trust, and relies on the Lord. He’ll be like a tree planted by the rivers of water.”
That is a promise and a sure cause and effect. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you.” All power is perfected in weakness. Therefore I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses so that Christ’s power many reside in me. So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insult, catastrophes, persecutions, and in pressures because of Christ. For when I am weak then I am strong.”
Don’t we have the most critical hour of weakness of the flesh and weakness of the church and weaknesses of everything? This is the time were we see our weakness which we normally don’t like to look at and don’t admit and don’t even believe. We don’t even believe we’re weak as a child. And yet the grace is sufficient to the one who will be a child and one who will lean. And so we, we declare that.
The Amplified version says…
“O Lord of hosts…
That’s the Lord of heaven’s army. So this is who you’re speaking to-the Lord of the armies, the armies of angels. And we know from Daniel’s story that they do war. When we pray, the angels, the host of angels are, began to war. We don’t take advantage of that enough or I don’t.
“O, Lord of host, how blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts in You [believing in You, relying on You, and committing himself to You with confident hope and expectation].”
We are a generation that doesn’t know the word ‘commit’. We’re not committed and we have to be committed to each other and to God’s word and to God’s will. Sometimes being committed to God’s will costs you a relationship. But the commitment is to His will. The commitment is to His being the source. That word ‘committing’ is so key to knowing God. He’s committed to us as Joan read, as Joan saw. He’s committed to Israel and provided everything.
When I, I spoke to you before about the, the question and crisis is who is God. And I, I went to Isaiah 54 over and over again and, and God is our creator, husband, and it goes on and on which I read in the last podcast. But that creator…I said, “If You’re the creator, You can get water from a rock. You can bring manna from heaven. There’s no limit to the creator. He’s demonstrated to us, He’s demonstrated to us, hasn’t He, John?
John:
Yeah, absolutely.
Martha:
He’s, He’s…There is no obstacle to…Nothing is impossible to God.
So when we get, when the church gets hold of the united voice of His will in this crisis and how He wants to manifest Himself…What the…The question of this crisis is who is God. Is, is flu God? No. Is, is man and presidents and kings and, and evil, evil crooks, are they God? No. We have to know who is God in any situation and this God is creative, powerful, and He has promises that He wants to communicate to us.
But I had, I had this prayer from Ephesians 6:23 in the Passion translation. I love it and I just, I send it out as our cooperate, little group sends to you our listeners.
So may God shower his peace upon you, my beloved family; my brothers and sisters in Christ. And may the blessings of faith and love fill your hearts…
We can ask for that. Amazing.
May the blessings of faith fill your heart from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus, the Messiah.
That’s our prayer for you and for us. In Jesus name.
The Need is to Believe – Episode #701 – Shulamite Podcast
In the crisis, the question and actual crisis is who is God. When the church gets hold of the united voice of His will in this crisis and how He wants to manifest Himself, we will have everything we need. The work is to believe, not to do.
Amen!?
You bring good news about good things!!???????????????
You are the family that I thank God for His goodness together with!
