Trump, A Call to Prayer, and the Message of the Month

Are we at the precipice of disaster or on the edge of a great awakening? And what role is Trump playing in these days of crisis where there is a call to prayer?
John:
Well, Martha you just did a, a message of the month about the coronaviruses and about the will of God and where we’re at right now. And I’m pretty amazed at the message. It’s very powerful. And you, you had mentioned submitting to our authority and you talked about Trump being the man that, that God’s put in there in the office as a Cyrus to bring His will.
And I heard someone, I think he’s a straight arrow, but I heard someone say the other day that, that He went to one of the Trump rallies and he was grieved because it appeared like everybody was worshipping Trump.
And I thought about that and I, I know that, you know, God is basically taking down all our idols. He’s, you know, trashing our economy. We, we, had trust in our money and then within two or three weeks we lose trillions of dollars in the economy and our 401K’s that were our safety net, they’re trashed. And our jobs that we felt secure in, we’re required not to go if we have them at all. There’s just so many idols that we have: church, our pastors. He, he mentioned all kinds of stuff. And he said but he was grieved by going to the Trump rally and seeing the people and it was almost idolatry of Trump. And I, I can see that.
But I also have more of your view of it. You’ve got a nation of rebellious people who now are supporting and celebrating God’s choice in that place. And, you know, I never know what God’s doing. I can never tell what God’s doing. And for, for there to be a surge like that! Yeah, ok, we’ve been, we’ve been leveled by this. You know, whether you believe it’s, it’s a overkill, whatever, it doesn’t really matter, God’s done something.
And you’ve got people that have been rebellious who are now celebrating God’s choice. And I think, I think there’s a real purpose to it. I think it’s a real…God does things totally different. He will allow us to go down rivers that look like they’re going one way and it’d be totally different than that way.
And I’m not worshiping Trump. I’m worshipping the God behind Trump. And I’m blessing His choice, God’s choice of who He’s put here.
Now He put Obama in there. He put Clinton in there. He put Bush in there. He put them all in there. And, no, I didn’t have the same blessing. I did it in fear and trembling, I blessed. This one I really want to bless. I have a, I have a great joy for Trump to be in there. I’m blessing Him all the time. I’m like, “Oh, God, please give Him wisdom.”
And if you’ve got rallies of people who are celebrating God’s choice…And, of course, Martha, we’re human, ok. We’re stupid, stupid humans. We’re going, we’re going to go off. Anything that we do we’re going to go off, anywhere. Yeah, it’ll go off in idolatry but God’s able to deal with that, too.
So, I’m excited. I take the man’s warning. I think he’s right. I think, you know…But I…We can’t look to our government. We can’t look to our finances. We can’t look to our jobs. We can’t even look to our churches or our pastors. We can look to Him. That’s it! It’s all we have. But I’m really, I’m, I’m, I’m excited. I’m excited to watch.
There’s another prophet, preacher, Jeremiah Johnson I heard. He had a dream the other day. And he said that…And you, we all, we all have these opportunities now to listen to things that we wouldn’t have normally listened to because we’re sitting at home “sheltering in place.” So I heard him and he said he had a dream. And he said that he saw Trump in a baseball game and he was at the, the plate, the home plate and he was getting ready to hit the ball. And he saw that there was a fastball being, being shot at him. They were, they were going, they were going to do a fastball, curveball, whatever. I don’t know… I don’t remember the exact details of it. But regardless it was…They were…Evil was throwing a curveball to him that was going to take him out. And, and there was a major wind that came through and slowed the ball down and he hit it out of the park. And that’s what I’m thinking. I’m blessing God to do that. I really want that to happen. I want His hand to come and allow it to hit it out of the park.
I’m ready for all this evil, evil cabal of, of people who are trying to and don’t even care if they destroy our country in doing it. They just don’t want him again. I’m thinking “Wow, you would be willing to tank the entire country, you’d be willing to tank everyone’s retirement, you’d be willing to trash us as a economic powerhouse in the world, all for what. So you wouldn’t get God’s man in there.” That’s what it is. That’s why they’re so…
Martha:
It kind of proves it is God.
John:
Now see, that’s exactly it…
Martha:
Behind it all
John:
Yes!
Martha:
Because the attack is unprecedented to me. I can’t imagine. Even Lincoln suffered a lot of attack, but it couldn’t possibly be the size of this one because of the sheer communication.
John:
That’s right. That’s absolutely it.
Martha:
And he’s got to be sustained by supernatural power because who could stand what he goes, what he has to put up with.
John:
I couldn’t. I really couldn’t.
Martha:
I don’t think he could either but he’s got, he’s been infused with God’s prayers, I think, from God’s people. But this is the hour.
John:
I think it’s proof. You’re exactly right. I think it’s proof that he’s God’s man because of the vitriol and the hatred and the venom that’s coming against him from people that I don’t personally believe are, are right.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
So I know this is real political and it’s real different from, from what we normally do.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
We, we’ve, we’ve jumped into political conversations on the podcast before, kind of danced around it. You’ve done…We did Jonah, the CD of the Month. We were, we’re hitting all around without naming what we were naming. This is different.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
This is a little more direct. And, and I think that it, the reason why it’s direct is because it’s a call of the hour.
Martha:
Um hmm. And It’s a crisis of huge dimensions. It’s just…
John:
Oh, yeah. This, this could be the end of everything. This could be our end if we don’t do what you’ve said in the Message of the Month.
Martha:
I think the, the outcome I want from the Message of the Month is the call to prayer and the call, and with the call to prayer always is a call to repent.
John:
Right, exactly.
Martha:
Every…And many people believe and, that this is the prelude to the Great Awakening.
John:
Right.
Martha:
They’re calling it The Awakening.
John:
Right.
Martha:
And the Message of the Month was about honoring authority and it was from the scripture. So it…Regardless…The beginning of a prayer chain and I, I said to her, “We’re little but we can, we can give our all. We can call for prayer and ask everybody that hears us to call for prayer.”
John:
Regardless of that one prayer we’re being called to pray period.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
Basically we’ve…I’ve said it in, in one of my posts, I said that He’s basically put us in time out. And He said, “Ok, it’s time for you to sit out.” And we’re, we’re in our corner so that we can think about it. Yeah, we can look at the, that our trust in, in our economy, in our blessing, in our…We can look at all that and we can repent and need to. But the prayer…
Martha:
Prayer for the nation.
John:
Prayer for the nation.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
Prayer for ourselves. Go and, and repent. Yes, absolutely. It’s not like it’s difficult. I can stir around in my soul just for a few minutes and find something stinky. But the Holy Spirit, you know, will lead us through…
Martha:
Uh hmm.
John:
…the repentance.
Martha:
Um hmm. You’re talking about the scripture I was on was the one that was prayed for President Trump. “If My people who are called by My name, humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.”
And it’s a great call going out among some wonderful men of God to take this up and pray along that line. That’s a powerful opportunity to change the world and to save our, literally save our nation. I believe that’s what’s at stake.
Trump, A Call to Prayer, and the Message of the Month – Episode #697 – Shulamite Podcast
Are we at the precipice of disaster or on the edge of a great awakening? While our world is being shaken, and there is a massive call to prayer is President Trump the right man for this hour? Could he be God’s choice?
I heard once that the national sin for America was rebellion. We were a nation founded through rebellion. I guess I first realized this, when I was teaching my children about the Boston Tea Party. Suddenly my Schoolhouse Rock education collided with my Christian values! In the way we founded, I wonder if we do carry the sin of rebellion, generationally. Without God, the rugged individualism, and exceptionalism is just a sidestep away from pride. Without God, our independence can easily slide into rebellion. Without God, our rights can become our selfishness.
There seems to be two types of people during this crisis, those that fear sickness and death and those that fear tyrannical rule, or at least our rights being violated. I have fallen more into the second camp. I have had to repent of the false sense of security, that I didn’t even know I had before this! Apparently, I derived some sense of protection from my leaders, my country, my logic, my friends, my town, my freedom, economic stability, and sameness. As things unraveled and people reacted in a way that was frightening to me, I had to repent of finding any safety or peace apart from Jesus. We may one day be in a situation where it is just us and Jesus, perhaps being persecuted, and He must be enough. I will be praying for revival for the rest of our time out, repentance from rebellion, and an uncovering and rooting out, of any place in us that we trust in anything else, besides Jesus.
Nothing & no one is answer, without God being that answer…& He is! Has He come as we expected?! Have I lived on, prayed, ‘my little island’?! Does God obliterate, into His expansiveness? Have we lived as if there is no Answer? Are we tidy, or real? God is shattering the self-satisfying idols of apathy. “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven ” Every Source for all God’s interests awaits our prayer. We are in this together, more than we realize, in both need & reliance of God. The problem isn’t just ‘out there’, it’s in me. Repentance is seeing, bowing, turning…& turning is a call to pray beyond…us…into God’s purpose & provision. Prayer is prayer when it’s carried in heart & life…with His eyes our true seeing. Martha’s powerful message of the month is a clarian call to prayer as big as God is. His Will encompasses everything…our Sovereign Reigning God; reign in me, reign through me. The prayer at the end of Lance Wallnau’s message was impacting, from the heart of God. John’s messages humble us…& lead us to stance & purpose, in faith. Thank God for all He’s Giving! And now, for His expectation. ‘A people that know their God, & love the God HE IS’! (loosely quoted…MK)
So good – thank you, John / Martha . . . hadn’t thought about it like that. I believed that God ordained all this but for what? And you answered: so we could pause, reflect on our idols and lay them down; repent and pray for our nation.
Powerful scripture in Chronicles, Martha. We (as an assembly) began praying that around the time when Franklin Graham was going to all the state capitals just before Trump was elected, and to this day.
Well, I want to wish you all at Shulamite Ministries a triumphant Easter! We’ll be gathering, as we have been for the last few weeks, via Zoom.
Stephen asks for prayer for his brother, David and his wife who both are ill with this virus and are continuing to be quarantined. He’s chief administrative officer at Cambridge Hospital in Boston and still needs to work from home. There have been many medical personnel that have tested positive in his hospital. God is still good!
