We Live Under the Head Even in Personal Decision
Episode #723
10/11/2020
With Martha Kilpatrick and hosted by John Enslow
This the continuation of a series of podcasts started in Episode #719
Even in our personal decisions we function under the Head. Jesus knows His perfect plan and is able to guide us into it perfectly.
John:
So there’s a purpose. There’s a deep purpose to it. But the ultimate deal was “Will you be under My will?” I knew that I would be blessed under the will. I knew that even if it wasn’t my will that I followed His will in the car that He wanted for me…You don’t see this color anywhere. This is not a normal color. And so I said, “Ok, I will, I will get it. This is it. This is my car. This is what He’s chosen for me. So this is what I get.”
Martha:
So, actually even personal decisions have to come from the Head. It was Christ’s decision not yours. Even in practical life we live under the Head and that’s where the test sometimes is. I can, I can be an Eve and just figure out why it’s all right…
John:
Yeah.
Martha:
…to get my way.
John:
I had the wisdom and the knowledge and say my wisdom said that I need this and my wisdom says that I need that and, and my knowledge of this is hey, this…And He’s like, “No, this is MY wisdom and knowledge. Do you want it?”
Martha:
So that’s how you live. That’s how you have to live. You have to live your life always as in, in and from church, which is His mind.
John:
I’ve heard you do this with other people. Long time ago you had a story about a lady and, and she got a, a new and, and you said, “Is that the car the Lord asked you to get?” And was like, “What are you talking about?” You said, “Did the Lord tell you that’s your car?” “No. I don’t know what you’re talking about. I…It’s the car that I…”
Martha:
“You’re supposed to ask God about your car???!”
John:
“About the, what car…
Martha:
“Yes.”
John:
…I want. I’m going to be driving a car. It’s my car. I’m driving it. Why, why do I have to ask Him?”
Martha:
And she was a terrific leader in a big, big church.
John:
Yeah. Big!
Martha:
And I said, “Do, what do they teach you about God’s Will?” They said, “Here’s the Book. Figure it out in your brain. Use your brain.”
John:
Yeah, you’ve got a Bible and a brain and go get it.
Martha:
Go figure. Um hmm. And, and I went, “They don’t teach you the will of God?
John:
Wow.
Martha:
She said, “No, I have never heard that that everything comes under His will. I have never known that.”
John:
And, you know, it’s, that’s quite unbeknownst to me. And it’s not like it’s a difficult thing.
Martha:
Right.
John:
The dif… the only difficulty was whether I was willing for His Will to cross my will.
Martha:
Um hmm. And see I rode in it yesterday and I don’t like it either.
John:
Right?!
Martha:
It doesn’t ride as smoothly.
John:
It does not.
Martha:
It just jumps along like a, like you’re on a gravel road all the time.
John:
It’s sportier.
Martha:
And it’s…
John:
Yeah.
Martha:
But we, we’re going to discover that’s it’s the, the best.
John:
The best.
Martha:
And the most perfect.
John:
The perfect for this time.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
And I don’t know why. But I didn’t buy it based on my, my…
Martha:
Um hmm. But we’re under the Kingdom.
John:
Right.
Martha:
That’s what’s, that’s what’s so wonderful. Under the Kingdom you have it all.
John:
Right.
Martha:
The Kingdom is the place where you, where you access all that God stores up for you…
John:
Right.
Martha:
…not as prosperity, not as things.
John:
No. But includes all things.
Martha:
It includes all things.
John:
Right.
Martha:
And, and they are practical. Listed there is food and, and clothing.
John:
Yeah, it’s practical.
Martha:
But it’s everything practical comes from His Will and is…When you’re under His Will, you have access to all. He had that car picked?
John:
Yeah, absolutely.
Martha:
It’s a beautiful car.
John:
It is beautiful.
Martha:
And it’s beautiful inside. Very comfortable. But it’s not smooth.
John:
It’s not, It’s not the same.
Martha:
And it’s tight…
John:
It’s tight. Tight…
Martha:
…inside.
John:
It’s tight suspension. And it’s tighter inside.
Martha:
Yeah. And, but we’re under the government of God. We’re under the Fatherhood.
John:
This is what I, what I saw when I was driving it home. I, I saw that this is so important to these times. This is, this is, this is important where we have to live like this.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
In times of crisis, in times of persecution, in times of chaos you have to live under the Will and by the Head.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
And, and if don’t…
Martha:
Your only safety is there.
John:
That’s your safety and, and you will not have your provision without being under that will.
Martha:
That’s right.
John:
And so I saw, ok, this is a grand lesson for me not just a car lesson. This is a lesson that’s saying, “In the kingdom you have got to live like this especially in these times.”
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
If we’re going into a time of persecution, if we’re going into a time of, of crisis and hysteria, if we’re under the will of God, if we are fine tuned listening to His will and we are under His headship, we will…I mean it’s not like you couldn’t be still martyred if you, if your under…That may be the will of God.
Martha:
That may be.
John:
But you’ll have every provision.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
You won’t just be martyred because you’re stupid and because you’re willful.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
I mean I can, I can, I can be killed and, and, and it look like I’m martyred because I’m saying, “Jesus” all the way down and it has nothing to do with Jesus because I wasn’t under His head.
Martha:
Right. What a thing to say. That’s great.
John:
I mean, really, if I was eaten by the lions in Roman and I wasn’t in the will of God, then guess what? I’m just getting the due punishment of what my actions led to.
Martha:
And, and my little booklet that’s on Kindle, Kingdom Safety…
John:
Right.
Martha:
…that’s what it’s about.
John:
It is. And it’s amazing.
Martha:
Sometimes we’re going…
John:
We’re going to put it in print.
Martha:
…to put it in print.
John:
Absolutely.
Martha:
I love that little booklet because it’s, it’s this.
John:
I really want you to do a kingdom book. I want to put them all together.
So, anyway, the, the but our safety in these times will only be…And, and it is…
Martha:
Right.
John:
…not going to make sense to us sometimes.
Martha:
Sometimes it won’t. I’m trying to think of, of other situations I could tell.
John:
This house that I’m living in is beyond my income.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
It is not…
Martha:
Beyond your means.
John:
It’s beyond my means and God…
Martha:
Way beyond your means.
John:
Way beyond my means and God did it. And it was something I fought. I wanted another little snotty nose house over here, this ugly little thing that I was going…..
Martha:
The realtor wouldn’t even show.
John:
Exactly. I want that. I said, “This is, this is what I can…
Martha:
This is what I’m worth.
John:
This is what…
Martha:
This is what I can afford.
John:
And afford and worth and I can fix up. Me, me, me, me me.
Martha:
Logic.
John:
Logic. Knowledge. My wisdom.
Martha:
And then the funny thing is the owner came back and raised the price…
John:
Yeah
Martha:
…to $30,000 more.
John:
I think it was even more than that. He literally…I, I, I said, you know, “I’ll give you this much for it” which was ample. And said, “Well, no, give me more. I’m going to get more, I want more.” And he went to some outlandish…
Martha:
Outlandish.
John:
…number.
Martha:
It was ridiculous.
John:
I said, “Well, he doesn’t want to sell it.”
Martha:
Um hmm. And so the Lord…
John:
It wasn’t Him.
Martha:
said to me…
John:
It wasn’t him that didn’t want to sell. It was God…
Martha:
God…
John:
…that didn’t want to.
Martha:
…protected you from a nightmare because it was just a shack, really, John.
John:
Yeah. , it really was…
Martha:
And, and that’s what…Your logic and your reasoning as to means and so forth…
John:
That’s where my logic would have put me.
Martha:
Yeah, and God, God said to me, “I’ve got something much better for him.”
John:
And there’s something spiritually wrong down in that area. I don’t know what it is.
Martha:
Really.
John:
Yeah, it’s seedy. I don’t…It’s…
Martha:
And so it just fell all into place, everything we needed fell into place and…
John:
Beyond.
Martha:
…the bank. We’ve told the story before. You applied for a construction loan. You were able to get a piece of property from a woman in our group. And…
John:
The whole thing was God.
Martha:
The whole things was perfect. And the banker sat down with you. The loan officer said, “John, there is no way that any bank is going to give you this loan for construction…”
John:
“And the reason I am is because I know there’s another Factor.” And, and she was talking about God.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
She was a Christian and she said, “I know there’s another Factor here and so…
Martha:
We’re going to give it to you.
John
…we’re gong to give it to you.”
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
And it’s worked out perfect. But I would…But see if I wasn’t in the will of God, I would have missed this blessing which has been a blessing to the ministry to you and to me.
Martha:
Right. Right.
John:
This…It would have been horrible because I would have in my wisdom gone so…
Martha:
To fix that piece of property up would have been unbelievable for one person.
John:
I saw it functioning the same way as this one does.
Martha:
Yeah. You had the vision.
John:
I had the vision.
Martha:
And that’s as high as your faith would go.
John:
Yeah.
Martha:
But because you were under His will…
John:
Yeah.
Martha:
…it went beyond your level of faith.
John:
But it chapped me. It chapped me bad. I was, I was upset because I thought that that’s…
Martha:
It seemed to be the answer.
John:
It seems to be the answer.
Martha:
Feasible.
John:
It was feasible. It was here. It was feasible. It was what was available. I could do it. Bla, bla, bla. But God was like, “Nuh uh!” But I got miffy and pissy and I was a little mad.
Martha:
But you were still under His will.
John:
But I was under His will. Yeah, I mean He doesn’t, He…I had to trust.
Martha:
Yeah.
John:
I had to trust. I had to be saying, “Ok, I trust You in this” and I had to trust Him in this car. And it seems like such a stupid thing. It’s a car, who cares?
Martha:
Do you know one of our female friends was talking about the same feelings she had about her car.
John:
Exactly.
Martha:
A car is pretty personal when you’re in it a lot.
John:
Yeah, yeah.
Martha:
And…
John:
And I drive a lot. But I believe that in these times, these times that we’re living in if we’re not dedicated, devoted, and…
Martha:
Committed.
John:
…committed to the will of God and to living under the head we are going to have really bad situations happen.
